Ingredients

Method

  1. 1
    FILMED OPTION

Rinse and thoroughly drain the 1 oz fat-free cheddar before layering. The original recipe also works without this step; it does not change the ingredient amount or published macros.

  2. 2
    LAYER

Bread → cheese → ham → cheese → ham → cheese → ham → cheese → bread. The alternating layers are key — even melt throughout.

  3. 3
    HEAT

Nonstick pan on LOW heat. Add butter, let it melt.

  4. 4
    COOK

Place sandwich in pan. Cook slowly, 3-4 min per side until golden brown. Low heat prevents burning before cheese melts.

  5. 5
    MELT

Optional — cover with lid for 30-60 seconds to fully melt the cheese.

  6. 6
    REST

1 minute. Slice and serve with mustard.

Same build, skip the mustard. Kids love grilled cheese — this one just happens to have 28g protein.
