Cookies and Cream Protein Ice Cream (Ninja Creami)

A vanilla protein ice cream with three sandwich cookies spun through and chopped cookies-and-cream protein chocolate on top. Freeze the base overnight, then spin and finish the pint. Inspired by a White Drop cookie for CrumblCreamiCut Week 4.

Make this when

Make this when you want a cookies-and-cream Ninja Creami pint with cookie pieces throughout and a crunchy chocolate topping. Blend the vanilla protein base, freeze it level for 24 hours, spin on Regular Ice Cream, then Respin with three sandwich cookies. Top with chopped cookies-and-cream protein chocolate. This recipe was inspired by the White Drop cookie and appeared as the Week 4 finale of CrumblCreamiCut.

Flavor target

First spoon: creamy vanilla protein Creami base with visible sandwich-cookie pieces pulled through — cookies-and-cream identity from bite one. Middle: cookie pieces hit as familiar Oreo-adjacent cookie crumb pockets. Top: chopped protein chocolate bar delivers the extra chocolate cookie-and-cream cue with a slight crunch. Whole pint should read as a Crumbl White Drop Cookie ft. HERSHEY'S Cookies 'n' Creme deconstructed into ice cream — accessible, familiar, both swaps work.

Ingredients

Batch cookYields 1 servings — quantities below are the full batch.

CREAMI BASE (series standard)

VANILLA (blended in BEFORE freezing — the simplest CCC flavor carrier)

RESPIN MIX-IN (added AFTER first spin)

POST-SCOOP TOPPING (added after scooping — NOT machine-processed)

Method

  1. 1
    POUR MILK

Add 1 cup Fairlife 2% ultra-filtered milk to a blender or Creami pint.

  2. 2
    ADD SWEETENER

2 tbsp monk fruit / erythritol sweetener.

  3. 3
    ADD WHEY ISOLATE

    1 serving unflavored whey isolate.

  4. 4
    ADD GUAR GUM

1/8 tsp guar gum, LEVEL measure. Heaped = gummy.

  5. 5
    ADD SALT

    1 pinch salt.

  6. 6
    ADD VANILLA

1 tsp vanilla extract or emulsion. Simplest CCC base variant to date — no cocoa, no emulsions, no berries, no powdered peanut butter, no Jell-O. The vanilla lets the cookie + protein chocolate do the identity work.

  7. 7
    BLEND SMOOTH

Blend until completely smooth. Zero lumps of whey, uniform pale-vanilla color.

  8. 8
    POUR + FREEZE (24 HR)

Transfer to a Creami pint. Freeze upright and level for a full 24 hours. Do not exceed the max-fill line.

  9. 9
REST 5 MIN + FIRST SPIN

Pull the pint from the freezer, rest at ROOM TEMPERATURE for 5 minutes — NO hot-water bath. Process on Regular Ice Cream, NOT Lite. The first spin may look grainy; expected because the Respin (with sandwich cookies) finishes the texture.

  10. 10
    ADD SANDWICH COOKIES + RESPIN

Add 3 low-calorie sandwich cookies to the center of the pint (whole — the Respin breaks them into pieces). Run one Respin cycle WITHOUT adding liquid. Respin breaks the cookies into pieces AND distributes them AND finishes the grainy texture. Different mix-in category vs prior CCC eps (brownie / bar / candy).

  11. 11
    RESPIN RESULT

The finished Respin should show visible cookie pieces distributed through the pale-vanilla pint with a smooth, non-grainy Creami texture. If the texture still reads powdery, run a second Respin.

  12. 12
    SCOOP

Scoop the finished pint into a bowl. Creamy vanilla Creami with visible sandwich-cookie pieces pulled through — cookies-and-cream from bite one.

  13. 13
    PROTEIN CHOCOLATE TOPPING

Chop 1/2 bar of cookies-and-cream protein chocolate (Hormbles Chormbles filmed, ~50 cal). Scatter over the finished bowl. Do NOT process this topping through the machine — chopped on top only, so the chocolate pieces stay crunchy against the creamy base.

  14. 14
    TASTE TEST + SERVE

Whole pint = 1 serving at ~360 cal / 47g protein. Familiar cookies-and-cream identity — accessible, not a surprise flavor.

Adult plate | Kid plate

Adult plate

Adult

Full recipe as written — whole pint = 1 adult serving at ~360 cal / 47g protein.

Kid plate

Kid

Same base works as a smaller portion. Kids typically split a pint 2-3 ways vs the whole-pint-per-adult default. Skip the chopped protein-chocolate topping if the kid can't chew hard chocolate pieces yet, or serve it deconstructed with the topping on the side. Verify the HighKey sandwich cookie + Hormbles protein-chocolate packages for tree-nut / dairy / cross-contact allergens before serving to kids (HighKey Original contains almond flour).

Three keys to success

  1. 1Standard base is series infrastructure — Fairlife 2%, not fat-free. Some milk fat is intentional for texture.
  2. 2Level 1/8 tsp guar gum. Heaped = gummy.
  3. 31 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla emulsion in the base pre-freeze — simplest CCC base variant to date. Emulsion is preferred if available (better cold-stability than extract), but extract works fine.

Storage and nutrition

Storage: Store the frozen pint upright and level in the freezer for up to 1 week pre-spin. Batch the chopped protein-chocolate pieces ahead if desired (store in a small airtight container at room temp — protein chocolate keeps at ambient per the bar's package guidance).

Reheat: N/A — serve immediately after Respin + topping. Chocolate-topping crunch is best in the first 2-3 minutes; softens as the Creami sits.

Lasts: Frozen pint (pre-spin) keeps 1 week. Chopped protein chocolate keeps at room temp per the package. Spun Creami keeps its texture for a few minutes; add the protein-chocolate topping LAST and eat within 2-3 minutes for peak crunch on the topping.

Brands I use

Fairlife
Fairlife
2% Ultra-Filtered Milk
Series-standard — same base as W1F1 through W4F2. 1 cup + 1 serving whey isolate is the standard 4-line base foundation the whole CrumblCreamiCut series uses. Not sponsored.
Vanilla extract or emulsion (any brand)
1 tsp per pint — the simplest CCC base variant to date
Vanilla carries the flavor without cocoa / emulsions / berries / powdered peanut butter / Jell-O. The cookies + protein chocolate do the identity work. Vanilla EMULSION (LorAnn or similar) is preferred if available — holds flavor better in cold applications than extract. Not sponsored.
HighKey
HighKey
Original Sandwich Cookies (3 per pint) — the filmed cookies
The cookies-and-cream mix-in that gets Respun into pieces. Low-cal sandwich cookie with almond flour base — verify tree-nut allergen on the current package. Any equivalent low-cal sandwich cookie substitutes (Catalina Crunch, Fatso Ripple, etc.). Not sponsored.
Hormbles Chormbles
Hormbles Chormbles
Cookies & Cream Protein Chocolate (1/2 bar per pint — the topping)
The post-scoop topping that delivers the extra chocolate cue and textural crunch. ~50 cal per 1/2 bar in the filmed product. Any clean-tasting unflavored whey isolate — ~28g protein per serving
Series-standard protein spine. Isolate (not concentrate) blends smoother.
