Split Plate Emergency Kebab Night
Same brand. Two SKUs. Adults get Colonel Kababz Chicken Seekh (slight kick). Kids get Colonel Kababz Beef Seekh (mild, less spicy). Same macros, different heat — the rare frozen split where the brand does the work for you.
It's 6 PM, nobody planned, everyone's tired, and the DoorDash math is heading toward $80 for mediocre food. You don't need to cook — you need to ASSEMBLE. Frozen kebab + frozen rumali + a 5-minute onion-cucumber salad = a real Indian family dinner in 20 minutes.

Method
AT THE BOX. Adults get Colonel Kababz Chicken Seekh (slight kick). Kids get Colonel Kababz Beef Seekh (mild). Both boxes go in the air fryer together — same time, same temp. Zero workflow split until plating.
50% Adult Chicken / 50% Kid Beef
Shared base
Cook once — this part works for everyone.
- 1AIR FRY KEBABS
Both boxes (chicken + beef) into the air fryer together, 400°F for 12 min total. Shake basket at 6 min. THE LAST 5 MIN gets you the char that matters — don't pull early.
- 2SLICE ONION + SALT
Paper-thin half-moons of red onion. Sprinkle a pinch of salt. Let sit 5 min — salt mellows the raw bite. (This is the Tier 4 move that punches above its weight.)
- 3
CUCUMBER STICKS (kid) + CUCUMBER SLICES (adult): Slice cucumber into sticks for the kid tray. Thin half-moons for the adult salad.
- 4WARM RUMALI
Wrap in damp paper towel. Microwave 30 sec total. Don't over-warm or it dries out.
Adult — Chicken Seekh + Wrap + Onion-Chutney Salad
- 5ADULT SALAD
Combine salted red onion + cucumber slices + 1 tbsp green chutney + tiny pinch more salt. Toss. This is the freshness anchor — without it, the plate is one-dimensional.
- 6WRAP ONE KEBAB
Take one chicken seekh, place it on a warm rumali, fold the rumali around it. THIS is the plate-interaction move that elevates the visual.
- 7PLATE
Wrapped kebab + 1-2 unwrapped chicken seekh on the side + folded rumali underneath + small ramekin of onion-cucumber-chutney salad. Optional: lime wedge.
Kid — Beef Seekh + Plain Rumali + Cucumber
- 5PLATE
Bento tray. 1 beef seekh + 1 folded rumali (or one rolled around a half-kebab if they like burritos) + 4-5 cucumber sticks in another compartment. Done.
Adult plate | Kid plate
50% Adult Chicken / 50% Kid Beef
Adult — Chicken Seekh + Wrap + Onion-Chutney Salad
What makes it different
- 2-3 tbsp green chutney (drizzle on salad + dip)
- Cucumber slices (thin half-moons)
- Fresh lime wedge (optional)
Kid — Beef Seekh + Plain Rumali + Cucumber
What makes it different
- Cucumber sticks (4-5 per kid)
- (Optional) tiny ramekin of green chutney as a dip if they ask
Three keys to success
- 1AIR FRYER CHAR IS NOT OPTIONAL. Per-box heat instructions get the kebabs warm; the air fryer 5 min @ 400°F finish is what gives them char + texture + flavor. Skipping this is why frozen kebabs taste like frozen kebabs.
- 2Two boxes, one basket: Beef Seekh + Chicken Seekh in the same air fryer at the same time. They cook identically. Pull together.
- 3Slice red onion THIN — paper-thin half-moons. Salt them, let them sit 5 min while the kebabs cook. The salt mellows the harsh raw bite.
